Terms of use

Last updated 1 November 2026

These terms apply to this website and to the Beam Analysis Workbench software it provides (together, “the Workbench”). By using the Workbench you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

1. Who owns the Workbench

The Workbench, including its software, its source and compiled code, its user interface, worked-solution text, case library, documentation and images, is © 2026 Hossein Basereh‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌. All rights reserved. Third-party components keep their own licences, listed on the third-party notices page.

2. What you may do

You may use the Workbench on this website, free of charge, for your engineering work, research and teaching. You may use, publish and share the results you produce with it, such as numbers, diagrams, screenshots and exported derivations, including in calculation reports, design documents, papers and presentations. A mention of the Workbench is appreciated.

3. What you may not do

Unless you have written permission from the author, you may not:

  • copy, download for redistribution, mirror, host or re-publish the Workbench or any substantial part of its code or content;
  • modify it, or create derivative software from it;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or deobfuscate it, or remove or work around its copyright notices, fingerprints or technical protections;
  • embed it in another website or application, for example in a frame;
  • sell, rent or sublicense it, or use it to provide a competing product or service;
  • use automated means to scrape or overload the website.

4. No warranty

The Workbench is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. It may change, be interrupted or be withdrawn at any time.

5. Engineering disclaimer

The Workbench is an analysis aid, not a substitute for professional engineering judgement. Its results depend on its assumptions and on the data you enter, and they may contain errors. A suitably qualified engineer must check them independently before they are relied on for design, construction, manufacture or any safety-related decision. You are responsible for how you use the results.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the author is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss or damage arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Workbench or its results, including loss of data, profit or business, and including damage to property or injury where the results were relied on without independent checking.

7. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use the Workbench after a change means you accept the updated terms.

8. Permissions

For permission to use the Workbench beyond these terms, for example in a course platform, a commercial product or on another website, contact the author.
